GPU Server (GPU VDS) — GPU Acceleration with an Nvidia Quadro RTX4000

A GPU VDS is a virtual server series that adds a VRAM slice from an Nvidia Quadro RTX4000 graphics card to standard VDS infrastructure. It ships with your choice of Windows Server 2025 or Ubuntu 24.04 pre-installed for video encode / decode, GPU-accelerated remote desktops and applications that use hardware acceleration. Plans differ in CPU core count, RAM, disk capacity and the amount of VRAM allocated to you.

Ideal Use:Video Encode / TranscodeGPU-Accelerated DesktopApps with a Graphical UIStreaming

    VRAM Allocated per Plan

Between 1 GB and 8 GB of VRAM is allocated from an Nvidia Quadro RTX4000 depending on the plan, and that slice is reserved for your server alone.

Windows Server 2025 or Ubuntu 24.04

The operating system you pick at checkout comes pre-installed with its drivers; connect via RDP on Windows or SSH on Ubuntu and start using the GPU right away.

10 Gbit Port + Unlimited Traffic

Unlimited traffic and a 10 Gbit port are included as standard for video output and large file transfers.

    Why a GPU-Accelerated Virtual Server?

Jobs like video encoding, decoding and screen streaming are slow on a CPU and keep every core busy while they run. When the dedicated units on a graphics card take them over, the same server feels far smoother and the CPU is left free for your application's own work. A GPU VDS exists to add that hardware acceleration to a standard VDS.

What Does the Allocated VRAM Do?

VRAM is the graphics card's own memory, where the rendered image, video frames and texture data are held. How much VRAM you are given determines how many sessions, what resolution and how many parallel video streams you can comfortably handle. That is why VRAM is per plan: it starts at 1 GB on the entry plan, rises to 8 GB on the top plan, and you increase it by moving up a plan as your needs grow.

Where Does a GPU VDS Make a Difference?

It suits video transcoding and streaming (encoding with FFmpeg NVENC / NVDEC), GPU-accelerated remote desktop sessions, browser and media applications that use hardware acceleration, automation tools that stream a screen, and running software that needs a graphical interface on a server.

    Frequently Asked Questions

A GPU VDS is the same VDS infrastructure plus a VRAM slice allocated to you from an Nvidia Quadro RTX4000; video encode / decode and applications that need graphics acceleration run on the GPU instead of the CPU.

VRAM is per plan and grows with the plan: 1 GB on GPU-VDS-2G, 2 GB on GPU-VDS-4G, 4 GB on GPU-VDS-6G and 8 GB on GPU-VDS-8G. The VRAM allocated to you is reserved for your server alone and is not split with other customers.

At checkout you can choose Windows Server 2025 or Ubuntu 24.04; both images are delivered with the Nvidia drivers ready. If you need a different distribution, just open a support ticket.

No. Your plan's VRAM is reserved for your server; no other customer can use that slice, and neighboring servers cannot consume your VRAM.

Video encode / decode via FFmpeg NVENC / NVDEC, GPU-accelerated remote desktop sessions, browser and media applications that use hardware acceleration, and streaming / transcoding tools all benefit directly from the GPU.

If you chose Windows Server 2025 you connect via RDP (Remote Desktop); if you chose Ubuntu 24.04 you connect via SSH — either way you start using the GPU directly.

Yes, you can upgrade your CPU cores, RAM and disk capacity to a higher plan; moving up also raises your VRAM allocation to that plan's level. The graphics card model is a Quadro RTX4000 on every plan.
